Mission Statement
The Haan Museum of Indiana Art preserves, celebrates, and shares Indiana’s extraordinary artistic heritage with visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Housed in a magnificent 16,000-square-foot mansion originally built as the Connecticut State Building for the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, we are home to the finest collection of Indiana art in the world — including masterworks by T.C. Steele and the Hoosier Group, hundreds of Indiana ceramics, bronze and stone sculptures, and a premier collection of 19th-century American furniture.
Our mission is to engage, educate, and inspire diverse communities through the beauty and history of Indiana art — connecting visitors to the stories, people, and places that have shaped the Hoosier State.
